A typical punjabi recipe for sweet rice is gur ke chawal. Gur ke chawal is typically prepared in the winter. Another well-known Pakistani  cuisine is rice with jaggery. I've provided some advice on how to improve the flavour of gur walay chawal.

For quick reference, here is the video recipe:

Ingredients:

Rice ( chawal)- half kg or 500 grams
Gur (jaggery) - 500 grams
Desi ghee or normal ghee - 1 cup
Almonds or any other dry fruits upon your taste - A few

METHOD:

  1. Rice should be washed twice and then soaked for 30 minutes. Remove the water from the rice after 30 minutes.
  2. Melt jaggery in water on medium flame . (Make jaggery syrup)
  3. Now boil the rice separately.
  4. In a pot add ghee and jaggery syrup , cook it for about 2 min , after few min add in the boiled rice and mix well.
  5. when rice soaked all the syrup , then cover the lid and cook for 5 min .
  6. Simple and easy jaggery rice is complete.
  7. Sprinkle with sliced almons and serve it hot .
  8. Enjoy.
